Who needs a DOT Physical?

Anyone with a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) is required to have a DOT physical. It may also be required by some employers for non-CDL driving jobs.

What's the Purpose of the Physical?

A DOT physical ensures a driver is medically fit to operate a commercial vehicle safely, helping prevent accidents caused by serious health conditions and keeping both the driver and others on the road safe.

What Drivers Are Saying

Dr.Bo is a very caring and professional chiropractor. I like his office setup and all other people who work in the office. Due to the insurance problem I have to choose the other chiropractor for years. Recently I injured my back. The pain was very severe. I decided to go back to Dr Bo again. I feel the difference and I know I'm in a good hand. Thanks Dr. Bo!!!

I got my neck adjusted yesterday and a headache I had been battling for 2 days went away immediately. The entire staff here is professional and super friendly, and they work together to facilitate the most effective care to get people feeling their best. They offer a lot of different things like massage, acupuncture, heat/ice, even pregnancy and baby care. I can see why they come so highly recommended!

I had a great experience at Smart Pain Solutions! I emailed them on a Saturday when the office was closed, and Dr. Bo responded within 30 minutes and had me scheduled for Monday. Within a week I was feeling better with no pain at all. Both of the chiropractors I saw were great, and Vernice and Danyelle, the massage therapists, are magic! Everyone in the office is so warm and friendly. I will be a client for life!

Most drivers receive a 2-year certification. However, if you have certain medical conditions (like high blood pressure or diabetes), you may receive a 1-year or shorter certification. Occasionally, additional information may be needed and a temporary certification is given to provide time to gather health records or tests.

If you don’t meet the requirements, our doctor will explain what needs to be addressed. In many cases, you can get treatment and return for re-examination once the issue is resolved.

DOT physicals are required for anyone with a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP). They’re also a great idea for anyone who drives a vehicle for a living, even if it isn’t on a CDL. Some employers may require a physical depending on job requirements.

No. The urine test during your DOT physical checks kidney function only – it is NOT a drug test. We check the heart, lungs, reflexes, spine, and joints as part of the general physical.
