Headaches and pregnancy

37 year old FemaleThirty-seven year old “Melanie” arrived at our office complaining of headaches. She was experiencing  mild to moderate headaches about 1-3 times per week. Examination revealed misalignments in the spine (mainly the neck) and muscular imbalances, but no contraindications to chiropractic care. Treatment was immediately initiated consisting of chiropractic adjustments, massage, and stretching. Her headaches began to decrease in frequency and severity after 3 visits. About a month after her initial visit, she announced she was pregnant. At that time, her headaches began to increase again. After increasing her treatment frequency, her headaches diminished after 2 weeks and she was headache free for 6 months. In the last trimester of her pregnancy she only had a couple mild headaches.
